How To Bring The Energies of Leo Season Into Our Home

Today, July 23 is officially the start of Leo season!

How to Bring The Energies of Leo Season Into Our Home

I’m fascinated by the way Astrology and Home Decor are intertwined and what better zodiac sign to use to evoke our style and personality into our space than Leo (puts shades on).

Let’s run down the qualities of Leo real quick. Leo is all about radiating it’s big, bold light onto the world, being in the spotlight unapologetically, confidence, creative and fiery energy. It’s also all about self.

So how do we bring this big, radiant, bold, and confident energy into our spaces?

There are so many ways so let’s dive in!

Fire

The chakra tied to Leo is the solar plexus. It’s fiery and hot so it makes perfect sense to honor Leo by bringing the element of fire into your space with candles.

Add an extra touch by going with a fav sense, whatever that is for you, but bonus points for citrusy scents.

Bright and Shiny Metals

Shiny metals like gold, brass, bronze, copper and even silver, black metals attract sunlight and let’s not forget about mirrors. They all basically work like a magnet for the Sun. They attract light into your home and when there a lot of light in your home it automatically feels brighter just like the Sun. You can bring these materials into your space through things like frames, other accessories pieces and of course lighting.

Lighting

It usually takes at least three forms of lighting to allow us to function in our home depending on the size of your room.

And no the light fixture on your ceiling does not count as three! You’ll need something else like a floor lamp, table lamp or a wall sconce so that you can really use your space in a way that actually functions. I mean, think about those of us that love to read in our living rooms.

Let me paint the picture…

The Sun has gone down, you’re all cozied up on your couch, feet up on your ottoman. You bust out your fav book and try really hard to read with just your ceiling light...not cute. Now imagine if you had another source of lighting to help you out like a table lamp or wall sconce? Can’t you already see how much more comfortable that would make your experience?

Curtains

Did you know how we hang our curtains affects the amount of light that radiates into our space?

It does and let me tell you how.

Way too many times I see people hang their curtain rod close to the edge of their window frame.

What this does is block all that beautiful Leo Sun energy from fully entering your space. So how about instead, you try hanging your curtain rod about 10 -12 inches from the edge of your window frame? This way when you open your curtains, they frame the sides of your window instead of sitting in front of the window frame. I talked about it more on this IG live and this blog post here.

Allowing more of the sunlight into your home allows it to feel bright, airy and bigger plus it helps to save energy by not having to turn on all your lights during the day.

Colors

Now this one is more obvious, but let’s spin it real quick because obvious is boring and since Leo is the opposite of boring...

Yes you can paint your walls a yellow, gold or orange shade to reflect the Sun’s energy, but how about you do that with your furniture or accessories instead?

Try a yellow/gold side chair, rug, curtains, throw pillows, tray, vase, and so on. Really think outside the box with this one instead of running towards the obvious…paint.

Shine Your Inner Light Into Your Space

Did you know that home decor is an inner process? Yes, the result is outward and physical, but how do you think these beautiful spaces that you admire are created?

The Designer behind the magic had to get to know the client to bring their light from the inside out to the space.

So figure out your passions, the things that light up and bring you joy and radiate all that light into your space. It really is a circular process. Dive deep to excavate your qualities and showcase them in your space, that then brings you joy. That joy that your environment brings you, feeds into your wellness and that wellness taps into your soul and makes you feel all the good vibes and that’s how you make your home match your vibe. That’s how you allow your radiant, bold and beautiful energy to shine bright in your space like a Care Bear!

One way that I’ve done this in my space is by bringing in my near and dear bamboo gold mirror into my dining room. The bamboo material speaks of my round of way girl qualities and my love of hip hop. It also speaks of where I’m from Queens, NY. I mean, who else is an LL Cool J fan and has bamboo earrings, at least 2 pair? lol. The gold metal speaks of my Leo moon and love of showcasing my regal qualities. You see where I’m going here?

Now you try it…

Think of your qualities and ways of how you can bring those high vibe qualities into your space so your room can shine bright with all of your beautiful and both inner light. I can’t wait to see pics of your space in my DMs and I’ll be wearing shades!

Happy Leo season!
