Create a Cozy Home: It's All About The Touch

Add soft fabrics or textures to your room with cozy area rugs, curtains, pillows, throws or even furniture like a sofa or chair. It's that easy! There's just something that I find so cozy about soft fabrics and textures. Not for nothing they remind me so much of that baby in that Charlie Brown cartoon that never went anywhere without his blanket (I can't remember his name for the life of me right now, but I know you know who I'm talking about... lol).  The really good thing for you is that there are so many soft fabrics to choose from out there like faux fur, silk, velvet, and shag for a rug (just to name a few).So you've got some options to work with, so go ahead and get started on adding some coziness to your room!If you're still feeling clueless or need some specifics on how to make this happen, I got you. Here are some ideas to get you started:
  • add a velvet or suede pillow to your sofa or chair
  • add shag rug to make your cold floors so they can feel nice and toasty (if you have kids, then run as fast as you can from a shag rug (all kinds of things will get stuck in there and won't ever come out no matter how much you vacuum-just a useful tip).  Go with a wool rug instead.  It's still soft and easier to clean.
  • dress up your windows with some silk curtains (If you're not sure how to hang curtains, check out this post here to become a curtain hanging master)
  • get a faux fur throw for your sofa/chair
