Need a Kitchen Spruce Up? Easy Kitchen Updates Part 1
Now that Halloween is over, it’s time to begin prepping for the holiday season.
Really? Already?
I know! I was thinking the same thing.
Geesh, I remember not too long ago, it was flip flop weather and here we are now talking about the holidays.
Anyways....one way to start prepping for the holiday season is to spruce up your kitchen. It’s a room that many of us spend lots of time in for the holidays, whether we are the ones cooking or not, so why not make it pretty?
I don't know about you, but I can’t seem to stay out of this room all year round-for eating that is, because I don't enjoy cooking at all! My hubby loves to cook. I only cook as a means of survival, not out of pleasure, but that's just me.
Enough about me. Let's get back to the post.
There are a couple of updates you can try in your kitchen, like adding a backsplash or painting your cabinets, but they take a lot of effort unlike what HGTV might say. I don’t know about you, but I don’t have the time or to spend on painting kitchen cabinets or putting up tile. No matter how much HGTV claims that these are easy updates, they are NOT! I said it! They take lots of time to do and I love my weekends way too much for those types of projects.
So to get you on your way to sprucing up your kitchen the easy way, I’m going to share with you some of my favorite EASY kitchen updates.
Let’s get started.
Replace Hardware
Take a trip to Home Depot or a flea market, where you can bump into some pretty hardware and btw they are also inexpensive. Don’t be afraid to get creative. You can change up the color too with some spray paint.
Dress Up Your Window
Add a bit of pattern to your kitchen by dressing up your window with a pretty fabric. It’s a super cheap update.
Paint The Inside of Your Cabinets
Don’t want or have the money to replace your cabinets? Paint the insides for a renewed feeling.
Add a Backsplash with Stencil
Don’t feel like spending a weekend working with mortar to put up tiles, then try a pretty stencil instead.
Replace Cabinets with Floating Shelves
How about removing some of your cabinets and making a statement with some floating shelves. It’ll be the perfect place to add a personal touch or color with some picture frames and vases.
Give Your Floor Some Attention
Dress up your floor with a colorful rug. If your flooring is not so pretty, this update will take the focus off of your floors.
Now don’t forget to stop on by next week when I reveal part 2 of my easy kitchen updates.
Your turn!
